VOTING IS CLOSED!

I need your help!  These 6 women were among many who worked their butts off in my group challenge that wrapped up last week.  My leaders and I are having a heck of a time deciding who should win so I am turning it over to you.  Please comment below with the letter that corresponds to the woman who inspires you the most from these accounts of their experiences!

A. Danelle: Oh man! I feel super honoured to be considered! When I started this challenge I never even considered winning I just wanted to do something that would help me lose weight. Through the 66 days I have learned so much more than I would have if I just dropped pounds.

I have started enjoying working out and learned that I don’t need to exhaust myself daily to see results. I have a new relationship with food. Food to fuel my body! The biggest thing I am taking away is a new found passion for having positive thoughts about my body and what it is capable of doing.

This group has been a great way to receive encouragement and practice encouraging other woman through their fitness journeys! It is amazing what we can do when we are encouraging each other! My body and mentality has changed incredibly. I will continue my own fitness journey and I will be a champion for what my body is doing now instead of waiting around for when it is at a socially accepted size!

B. Angela: When I started the challenge I had just come out of a extremely toxic work environment. I was feeling drained and defeated and most concerning I had lost Angela and had no sense of self or importance. I knew I wanted to make big changes in my work life but knew I needed to fill my “tank” and take care of myself first before focusing on others.

I gained so much strength throughout this challenge. As I lifted weights I could feel my muscles but more importantly I have gained inner strength

So much of our lives revolve around food we all have some degree of a relationship with it I started the program thinking I needed to restrict and was amazed to see how much fuel my body needed. The focus on clean eating has had so many benefits …increased energy….clearer skin … I also gained a new perspective through mindfulness and asking how it made me feel….better or worse etc and if it was worth not reaching my goals

I also learned that it was ok to enjoy food even the food I have spent the last 34 years thinking was bad for me. I know I am going to have less than stellar days but instead of falling into old habits and allowing days to transition into weeks I allow myself to get over it and get rid of the guilt

I am so Thankful for the support of the challenge ladies. I am thankful to know that that struggle is real and that I am not alone.

I chose one of my swelfies. Though not glamorous I love that it symbolizes how far I have come And my commitment to move on as the best Angela I can be.

I am worth it!!!!

C. Michelle: Firstly, I am so grateful to be a finalist!!
The past 66 days have taught me so much, and I have come so much farther than I had anticipated, and for that I am so thankful!!
Food no longer feels like an enemy, I understand so much more about fuelling my body, as opposed to just feeding it. My energy levels are huge, which has improved every aspect of life.
I started lifting weights for real about 8 months or so before this challenge, but really knew nothing. The structured workouts Amber posted improved my workouts by leaps & bounds, and I have learned so much about my body by watching it respond to these changes. It really is amazing.
Mostly though, the biggest thing that has helped is the way it has become my lifestyle. It’s so much easier now that it has become habit. If I have an off day, it’s totally ok. I no longer feel like I’m falling off the wagon, because there is simply no wagon to fall off of.
It’s a truly empowering feeling. And I will be forever thankful that I joined this challenge.

D. Nadine: I would like to thank the Academy… Just jokes!

I’m so pleased to be chosen as a finalist.

I have taken away so much from this challenge. The way I think about food and exercise has changed so much that I know I will continue to live this way for years to come. It isn’t onerous, it isn’t scary, and it isn’t overwhelming. It is simply a lifestyle change that makes you feel stronger and healthier and happier!

I have learned to be calm and rational about my body. I no longer get angry when I look at it and say “you HAVE to do BETTER” or berate myself for my food choices. I make good choices for the most part and I stick to all my workout plans. This challenge was really a turning point for me. I will continue to work on my goals and eat well.

I love this pic of me. I’m in new clothes. I’ve lost the mentality that I have to wait to be my goal size before I get new clothes as if somehow my size dictates what I deserve. Hell no! I’m amazing, whatever my waist size is!

GO TEAM!

E. Meghan: So honoured to be chosen by all the wonderful ladies in the group. Cheesy as it sounds, I think we are all winners!

I joined this group because my sister kept nagging me to do it. I told myself I was “ok” with the way I felt and looked before I started, even though I really hated the way my clothes fit, I hated shopping for clothes, seeing myself in a mirror dressed or naked, and my self worth. I told myself I was happy and that the looks I got when I ate didn’t hurt. But now I truly understand no one decides how I should feel but me. I learned what it feels like to eat enough. I am no longer an emotional eater because I don’t feel guilty about eating. I thought when I joined, it would be like all the other diets out there. I learned that wasn’t the case. It is becoming a new attitude towards life and self worth. It wasn’t just about doing what the instructor says. It was about learning how and when to eat the right foods. It was learning that any kind of movement was important, not “killing yourself exercising.” I can now confidently make better choices throughout the day. And yes, I have “off” days where I eat everything under the sun. But I don’t hate myself for it, and I don’t say “well, lunch was a bust, might as well forget eating right the rest of the day.” I just choose to make a better decision the next meal. I now try and seek out my reflection because I love how I am looking. Thank you to all the ladies for their support throughout the whole thing. A big thanks to Amber for teaching me the right tools. And a REALLY big thanks to my sister for starting me on this whole journey.

F. Terra:

Before joining this challenge, I was like millions of women out there, always searching for ‘ the fix ‘. I have done weight watchers, south beach , cabbage soup, lemon and cayenne pepper water , No carbs , weight loss pills/shakes and endless hours of boring cardio on the eleptical. Never mind the waste of money, but I always ended back at square one and feeling like more of a failure.
66 days ago, I was in a very dark place when it comes to my appearance. my clothes weren’t fitting and I was living in leggings. About half way through this challenge, clothes I hadn’t worn in months were fitting! I was seeing definition in my arms. I never felt deprived and I looked forward to my workouts. I feel STRONG, I feel BEAUTIFUL. I’m no longer avoiding the mirror naked ( as much).
This challenge and the people in the group kept me going every day. I’m a happier mom , wife and overall person 😊 66 days went by so fast , I love the direction I’m heading. I look forward to building more muscle and continue to fuel my body with good food . I’m so done listening to all the bullshit that is shoved in our faces daily on how to lose weight fast.
Thank you Amber, thank you ladies! I think I got this ! Bring on the holidays.

Much love, Terra

Just comment below with the name or corresponding letter and I will count it toward that person’s total.  Contest will close at 12AM Thursday, December 2nd!

I vote for Danelle. Danelle has been an inspiration in the ways she’s been very open and honest about both her challenges and achievements in this journey, with friends, coworkers, and most importantly with herself. The changes in Danelle over these weeks have been remarkable, changes that obviously occurred on the inside and manifested in the way she walks, speaks with confidence and most importantly the way she smiles. So proud of you Danelle for discovering how amazing I already knew you were.
