Honey Garlic Sauce

This sauce is really nice when allowed to cool and then poured over chicken pieces or a whole chicken in the crockpot.  If you are using the crockpot and want a thicker sauce, at the end of the cooking remove chicken pieces and add the thickener/water mixture and bring to a boil before returning the chicken to the pot.

It’s also really tasty spooned over my Turkey Quinoa Meatballs found here.

In a small saucepan, combine:

1/4 cup honey

1 tsp (about two cloves) chopped garlic

2Tbs Soy Sauce (I like Braggs)

3Tbs Raw Apple Cider Vinegar

1/4 Cup broth of choice

1/4 Cup water

Mixing often, bring above to a boil and add:

2Tbs thickener mixed with 2Tbs water (I like arrowroot, or corn starch)

Bring to a boil again and remove from heat to cool.  Spoon over protein or toss meatballs in the sauce.  Will keep in a well-sealed jar for up to 2 weeks in the fridge.
