Competition Prep Rural Rebel Style


I’ve been talking about doing a fitness competition since I first found Meg’s page two years ago.  At 5 months pregnant and 225 lbs I announced to my husband (and anyone else who would listen) that I was going to do this.  I know it was met with skepticism from some, but not everyone.  I knew I had a long road ahead because I knew I wanted to do it the healthy way that I was learning from Meg’s page: nourishing my body and fuelling my workouts with delicious whole foods I enjoy, and lifting weights like a beast.  It took me 15 months to burn most of the fat and build my muscles to where they are today.  And what a crazy, awesome ride it has been so far!

I can finally confidently say that I am ready to set my sights on a specific show and get sparkly bikini buff.  This is such a bucket list experience, so I’ve decided to shoot for the moon in Vegas November 21&22.  I hope to register on Monday when they open up the show site!  I’m documenting my strut to the stage pretty closely on my Facebook page, so make sure you visit if you’re curious how it’s going!
